Holmfirth Commemorates 2 Flood Disasters

A bronze plaque to commemorate the cloudburst and flood at Holmfirth in 1944 was unveiled on Victoria Bridge by Mr. N. Marsh, Chairman of Holmfirth Urban Council, on the Holmfirth Flood of 1944.

The tablet also commemorates the 1852 flood in which 81 people were drowned.
