Holmfirth Relief Fund: Sussex Donations

In recognition and appreciation of the hospitality given to many Sussex children since the evacuation scheme was started in 1939, several donations from that area have been received at Holmfirth for the relief fund opened to meet the distress caused by the recent flood disaster there.

Parents, girls and staff at Varndean School, Brighton, have sent £35, and Mr. D. N. Potts, a members of the National Fire Service and father of one of the Brighton evacuees in Yorkshire, has also interested himself in the appeal, and as a result of a collection made among members of his Fire Force Area has been able to send £15.
