Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SHAW, WILLIE. Private. No 97979. 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters. Born Chesterfield. Son of the late Mary Elizabeth Shaw of Honley. Lived with his grandmother at 9 Swift Fold, Honley. Employed by Messrs A. Thornton and Sons. Was a member of Mr W. Brook's bible class at Honley Parish Church. Enlisted July 1917. Killed in action, 23.3.1918, aged 19 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
