The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

ALLEN, WILLIE. Lance Corporal. No 17/931. 15/17th Battalion (Leeds Pals) West Yorkshire Regiment. Born 15.6.1896. Son of Mr and Mrs Tom Allen, 34 Industrial Street, Primrose Hill. Worked as a teamer on the railways. Enlisted 5.1.1915. Killed in action, 19.7.1918, aged 22 years. Commemorated on the PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
