Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

DOBSON, WILLIAM VICTOR. Private. No 23396. 8th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Thirsk 7.8.1887. Educated at Thirsk Board School. Employed as a coach painter by Messrs Rippon Brothers. Husband of Beatrice Dobson, 15 Scholes Road, Birkby. Enlisted 3.8.1916. Killed in action, 11.8.1917, aged 30 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated MENIN GATE MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
