Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

STEWART, WILLIAM. Able Seaman. No J/23575. Royal Navy. HMS Black Prince. Born Huddersfield. Son of Mr and Mrs Stewart, 78 Bradford Road, Huddersfield. Educated Hillhouse Council School. Enlisted in the Royal Navy in 1913. Came home on leave in November, 1915. Killed in action at the Battle of Jutland, 31.5.1916, aged 19 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated PORTSMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
