Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

SMITH, WILLIAM. Private. No 242019. 2/7th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Lindley 25.12.1894. Son of Herbert and Hannah Smith, 23 Lockwood Scar, Lockwood, Huddersfield. Educated at Lindley and Lockwood Church Schools. Employed as a cloth finisher by the Longwood Finishing Company. Attended Lockwood Church Sunday School. Single. Killed in action, 25.3.1918, aged 23 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
