William Hirst and Son

Messrs. William Hirst & Son was a cotton spinning and cotton doubling firm established by William Hirst at Turnbridge Mills, Quay Street, Huddersfield.

Hirst had previously been in partnership with his older brother, Reuben Hirst, until they dissolved the partnership in February 1886:[1]

Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Reuben Hirst and William Hirst, under the style or firm of R. and W. Hirst, as Cotton Spinners and Doublers, at Turnbridge, Huddersfield, in the county of York, has been,dissolved, by mutual consent, as from this day. All debts due to and from the said firm will be received and paid by the undersigned, William Hirst, at the office lately occupied by the said firm. Dated this 8th day of February, 1886.
