Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HAIGH, WILLIAM DEANHOUSE. Gunner. No 326692. 33rd Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery. Born Honley. Son of the late Walter and Ann Haigh. Husband of Beatrice Alice Haigh, 57 Ivy Cottages, Deanhouse, Thongsbridge. Attended the Netherthong Parish Church and Sunday School. Was a member of the Working Men's Club, an official of the Netherthong Gardener's Friendly Society and was keen on cricket and football. Employed by Messrs Vickermans of Thongsbridge. Killed in action, 18.7.1917, aged 30 years. Buried DICKEBUSCH NEW MILITARY CEMETERY EXTENSION. Grave location:- Plot 2, Row C, Grave 12.
