William Cruickshank (1894-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

CRUICKSHANK, WILLIAM. Private. No 24650. 9th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Staincliffe, near Batley, 17.12.1894. Son of Mr and Mrs Joe Cruickshank, 89 Hillhouse Lane, Huddersfield. Educated at St. John's School. Worked with his father as a metal refiner. Enlisted 11.9.1916. Killed in action, 26.6.1917, aged 23 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
