Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BROADBENT, WILFRED. Private. No 5/4438. 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Field Gate, Leeds Road, Huddersfield, 12.10.1886. Educated at Beaumont Street Board School. Employed by Messrs James Haigh Limited, dyers and finishers, Colne Road, Huddersfield. Married, with two children. Enlisted 8.8.1915. Killed by a German sniper, 9.8.1916, a year and a day after he enlisted. Buried CONNAUGHT CEMETERY, THIEPVAL. Grave location:- Plot 3, Row J, Grave 2.
