Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HAIGH, WHITWAM. Private. No 20392. 9th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Golcar. Son of Mr and Mrs Ben Haigh, 162 Leymoor Road, Golcar. Employed by Messrs F. Calverley and Company Limited, of Milnsbridge. Attended Scapegoat Hill Baptist Sunday School. Was a playing member of the Leymoor Cricket Club. Enlisted May 1916. Embarked for France in August 1916. Killed in action, 25.4.1917, aged 28 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
