A row of nine properties built circa 1925/6 during the construction of Brownhill Reservoir as compensation to replace properties demolished during the construction (including six cottages above the disused Brownhill Mills).[1] All the properties were occupied by November 1929.[2]

An earlier property known as Wheat Close was situated to the west but was demolished circa 1960.
