Was the residence of James Durrans Taylor (c.1849-1891) (of the firm Joseph Taylor & Sons) until his death in May 1891. Sold for £1,400 at auction in March 1892:

On Tuesday evening Messrs. Eddison and Taylor offered for sale by auction, in their salesrooms, High Street, the leasehold family residence known as Westfield House, situate in New North Road, Huddersfield, and formerly in the occupation of Mr. James Durrans Taylor, deceased. In addition to spacious accommodation in the house the outbuildings comprise a three-stall stable, coach-house, and other accessories. The site contains an area of 1,770 square yards, and is held on lease from Sir J.W. Ramsden, Bart., for 999 years, from the 29th September, 1884, at an annual ground rent of £33. Bidding commenced at £1,000, and ultimately the property changed hands at £1,400. Messrs. Hall and White were the solicitors for the vendors.
