Welcome to Huddersfield Exposed, a collection of articles and pages about the history of Huddersfield and the surrounding area.
The pages reflect the research interests of those who contribute to the site and are not meant to be an exhaustive history of the Huddersfield area... at least, not yet!
Huddersfield Exposed is proud to be one of the sponsors of the inaugural Edward Law History Prize, named in honour of the noted local historian who passed away in 2013. Two prizes of £100 are on offer to encourage a new generation of local historians to take their first steps.
Further details can be found on the Huddersfield Local History Society's web site.
We've just launched an online shop where you can download high-resolution scans of historic items such as maps and photographs at reasonable prices. All income will be used to secure more content that can be added to the site. A 25% discount is available on all orders placed before 22 October 2017!
... or see the What's New? page for more recent additions to the site.
