War Memorial, Emmanuel Church, Shelley

The following stained-glass window memorial to Pilot Officer Alfred Vernon Cecil Barden is in Emmanuel Church, Shelley.

Barden was attached to 76 Squadron, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, and is buried at the Hanover War Cemetery. He had survived an earlier crash on the night of 13 July 1943.[1]

A separate war memorial is situated in the church's lych gate.
