Walter Stericker Wilkinson (1885-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WILKINSON, WALTER STERICKER. Private. No DM2/207407. 181st Mechanical Transport Company, Army Service Corps. Born Ravensknowle Road, Moldgreen, Huddersfield, 15.2.1885. Son of John William and Maria Wilkinson, of Dalton. Educated Moldgreen National School and Huddersfield Higher Grade School. Husband of Ethel Wilkinson, 22 Grange Avenue, Marsden. Employed as a textile instructor. Enlisted 28.8.1916. Killed by a landslide in a quarry near Bray on the 1.1.1917, aged 31 years. Buried HEILLY STATION CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 6, Row H, Grave 12.
ROH:- commemorated on headstone in Kirkheaton Cemetery.
