Walter Holroyd (c.1897-1921)

An ongoing project to commemorate and research the lives of those who appear on war memorials and rolls of honour in the local area, who served in the military, or whose deaths were linked to conflict.


Walter Holroyd was the son of drayman and carter Tom Holroyd and his wife Sarah.

In 1901, the family was living at 16 Navigation Yard, Huddersfield. By 1911, 14-year-old Walter was working as a mechanic's apprentice.
