The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

INNS, WALTER EDWARD. Private. No 7794. 1st Battalion King's Own Royal Lancaster Regiment. Born Uxbridge. Lived 35 Colne Road, Huddersfield. Employed by Messrs David Brown and Sons Limited, Park Works, Lockwood. Married, with two children. Was a Reservist and re-enlisted at the outbreak of the war. Killed in action, 26.8.1914. Buried LIGNY-en-CAMBRESIS COMMUNAL CEMETERY. Grave location:- Section 9.
ROH:- Lockwood Baptist Church.
