Steve Whitwam has been involved with tracing family history for over 40 years, initially researching his own which hailed mainly from the Colne Valley area; he has now got over 170,000 names in his database which connects to at least 80% of the people who lived in Colne Valley and Huddersfield area. A founder member of the Huddersfield Family History Society (of which he as project manager for seven years). He has also been involved with indexing Parish and Census records covering the Colne Valley and Huddersfield area. Retired from working in I.T. (Network Analyst) he now spends most of his time visiting abroad and pursuing family history.
