Tom Poole (c.1894-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

POOLE, TOM. Private. No 24624. 11th Battalion Manchester Regiment. Born Normanton. Son of John and Mary Poole, 6 High House, Linthwaite. Employed in the dyehouse by Colne Valley Spinning Company Limited. Attended Linthwaite Wesleyan Sunday School. Played football for the Linthwaite All Blacks Club. Enlisted May 1915. Served in the Dardenelles campaign. Reported missing, presumed killed, 16.8.1917, aged 23. Has no known grave. Commemorated TYNE COT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
