The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- SYKES, TOM ERIC. Trooper. No 2044. Household Battalion. Born Slaithwaite. Youngest son of Mrs Albert Sykes, 21 Longlands Road, Slaithwaite. Employed as a weaver by Messrs W. and E. Crowther Limited, Brook Mills, Slaithwaite. Killed in action, 3.5.1917, aged 20 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
- ROH:- St. James' Church, Slaithwaite; Slaithwaite War Memorial.
- Brother of Private HUBERT WOOD SYKES killed in action, 22.8.1916.
