Titus Whitwam (c.1899-1919)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

WHITWAM, TITUS. Private. No D/387571. Remount Depot, Army Service Corps. Born Golcar. Son of Ben and Sarah Ann Whitwam, 96 James Street, Golcar. Employed at Victoria Mills, Golcar. Attended Golcar Baptist Chapel and Sunday School. Was formerly a member of the Boys Brigade and the Golcar Conservative Club. Enlisted at the end of 1917. Was stationed at Ormskirk, Liverpool. Had been home on leave on one occasion. Was admitted to the Sparrow Hall Military Hospital, Liverpool, on Saturday morning, 11.1.1919, suffering from diphtheria. Died just after midnight on 12.1.1919, aged 19 years. Buried GOLCAR BAPTIST CHAPEL YARD. Grave location:- SE, 253.
