Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

LOCKWOOD, THOMPSON. Private. No 14192. 9th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Denby Dale. Son of Henrietta Lockwood and the late Charles Lockwood, High Street, Denby Dale. Employed as a collier at Messrs Naylor's colliery, Lower Denby. Was a keen athlete and a member of the Denby Dale Cricket Club. Reported missing in a bayonet charge on 2.3.1916, aged 28 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated MENIN GATE MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
