The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- HIRST, THOMAS TEMPLE. Private. No 50168. 1/7th Battalion The King's (Liverpool Regiment). Formerly No 29359 Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Well Hill, Honley, Huddersfield, 8.12.1881. Son of Elizabeth and the late John Hirst, 6 Marsh, Honley. Educated Honley National School. Employed as a warehouseman by Mr James Sykes of Milnsbridge. Husband of Julia Hirst, 76 Blackmoorfoot Road, Crosland Moor. Enlisted 3.9.1916. Died of wounds at No 23 Casualty Clearing Station, 11.4.1918, aged 36. Buried LAPUGNOY MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 6, Row C, Grave 12.
