The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

NETHERWOOD, THOMAS. Private. No 208731. 5th Battalion Middlesex Regiment. Formerly No 2707 Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Moldgreen, Huddersfield, 6.1.1895. Son of Walter and Emily Netherwood, 13 Newsome Road, Huddersfield. Educated Stile Common Council School. Employed at the Karrier Car Works, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted 1914. Wounded in the hand 24.12.1916. Died in 3rd Northern General Hospital, Sheffield, of pneumonia following upon influenza, 9.11.1918, aged 23 years. Buried ALMONDBURY CEMETERY, HUDDERSFIELD. Grave location:- 8, 'C', 31.
