Thomas Julius Hirst, J.P., Meltham Hall, Yorks ; eldest son of the late Thomas Hirst, of Hamburg ; born in 1851 ; educated in Germany. A Director of the firm of Messrs. Jonas Brook and Bros., Ltd., sewing cotton manufacturers, of Meltham Mills, Huddersfield, and also of Messrs. J. and P. Coats, Ltd., of Paisley, Scotland ; Justice of the Peace for the West Riding of Yorks. Married, in 1881, Esther Frost, second daughter of the late Charles John Brook, of Healey House, near Huddersfield, Club : Junior Carlton.
