Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

RHODES, THOMAS GEORGE. Lieutenant. 3rd Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment, attached 57th Squadron, Royal Air Force. Born 8.8.1892. Son of George Henry and Ellen Rhodes, 10 Bankfield Road, Huddersfield. Educated Paddock Council School and Higher Grade School, New North Road, Huddersfield. Employed by Messrs David Brown and Sons, Crosland Moor. Single. Enlisted August, 1914, as a Corporal in the 1/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Was commissioned in 1917 and transferred to the Royal Flying Corps. Killed whilst flying on 11.6.1918, aged 25 years. Buried HUBY-St.-LEU BRITISH CEMETERY, HESDIN. Grave location:- Row B, Grave 4.
ROH:- St. Thomas's Church, Longroyd Bridge.
