The Woollen Thread: it's Nature and History, it's Structure and Use was written by Charles Vickerman (1821-1895).
Based on a lectured given by the author at the Huddersfield Mechanics' Institute on Saturday 5 April 1879, it was first published in 1883 by Alfred Jubb and Son, Limited of Albany Printing Works, Huddersfield.
A "revised and enlarged" edition was published subsequently (possibly in 1891).
