The Holmfirth Disaster: an account of the great flood of 1852 (1952)

"The Holmfirth Disaster: an account of the great flood of 1852" was a factual programme broadcast on the BBC Home Service North on Sunday 3 February 1952 between 10:30pm and 10:52pm.[1]

According to newspaper articles, it was researched by Manchester schoolteacher William Heppell Mason (1903-1975) with assistance from Winston Wood (Holmfirth solicitor), Cyril Armitage (editor of The Holmfirth Express), Sydney George Dilnot (Clerk to the Holmfirth Council) and Horace Goulden (Huddersfield librarian).[2]
