T. Illingworth and Co., Limited

T. Illingworth & Co. Ltd were a photographic company established in Halifax. The firm is known to have had a studio on Bradford Road, Huddersfield.

History

Thomas Illingworth (c.1838-1912?) established himself as a photographer in Halifax in the 1860s, having apprenticed under his maternal grandfather John Eastham in Manchester. His son, Thomas (c.1867-?), expanded the business and moved to Soho, London, where he produced photographic plates and paper.[1][2]

As the family business expanded, they established studios in nearby towns and cities, including one on Bradford Road, Huddersfield.[3]
