Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- HANSON, SUTCLIFFE. Private. No 97979. 2nd Battalion Machine Gun Corps. Formerly No 16248 West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Gasworks Street, Huddersfield, 27.8.1889. Both parents deceased. Lived with his sisters and brothers at 57 Union Street, Huddersfield. Educated Thomas Street Council School. Employed as a warehouseman by Messrs T. and H. Blamires Limited, Leeds Road, Huddersfield. Single. Enlisted 13.1.1917. Killed in action, 23.10.1918. Buried QUIETISTE BRITISH CEMETERY, two and half miles south west of Le Cateau. Grave location:- Row C, Grave 5.
