Details

  • location: junction of Hanson Lane and Moor End Road, Lockwood
  • category: place

Starling End is marked on the First Series O.S. map of 1854 as an area at the northern end of Dungeon Wood and likely took its name from a nesting place for starlings. The area was redeveloped during the laying out of Beaumont Park Road and the placename fell out of use but survives today as Starling End Farm at 72 Hanson Lane.
