Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HOLLAND, STANLEY. Private. No 39017. 2/8th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers. Born Huddersfield 6.3.1898. Son of Mr and Mrs S. H. Holland, 8 Bank Top, Lowerhouses, Huddersfield. Educated Lowerhouses National School and the Higher Elementary School, Huddersfield. Employed as a clerk at Bate and Company, yarn spinners, of Colne Road. Attended St. Mary's Church, Longley and was a member of Lowerhouses Working Men's Club. Single. Enlisted January 1917. Wounded 9.10.1917. Died of wounds at Rouen Base Hospital, 17.10.1917, aged 19 years. Buried St. SEVER CEMETERY EXTENSION, ROUEN. Grave location:- Block P, Plot 3, Row J, Grave 11b.
