The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- HAMPSHIRE, STANLEY. Lieutenant. 2nd/4th Battalion East Lancashire Regiment. Son of Samuel and Eliza Hampshire. Born Castleford, Yorkshire, in 1890. On the 1911 census he was listed as employed as a Photographic artist, living in Baildon. Was married to Annie Moores on June 28th, 1916, at St. Giles Parish Church, Colchester, Essex. Killed in action, 9.10.1917. Buried TYNE COT CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 35, Row F, Grave 12.
