Stanley Chappell (1890-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- CHAPPELL, STANLEY. Private. No 27317. 1st Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Formerly No 3888 2/5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Nook, Newsome Road, 12.5.1890. Son of Mr and Mrs Chappell, 160 Newsome Road, Huddersfield. Educated at Stile Common Board School. Employed as a warehouseman by Messrs Bairstows, wholesale clothiers, of Fitzwilliam Street, Huddersfield. Married in 1915. Wife living at 79 Baker Street, Oakes. Enlisted February 1915. Reported missing, presumed killed, near Hinges, north of Bethune, 15.4.1918. Has no known grave. Commemorated on the PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
