Sir John Ramsden (1755-1839) was the son of Sir John Ramsden (1699-1769) and was the 4th Baronet of Byram.

His son, John Charles Ramsden (1788-1836), predeceased him and he was succeeded in 1852 by the grandson, John William Ramsden (1831-1914) who became the 5th Baronet of Byram. Between 1839 and 1852, the Ramsden Estate was overseen by a small group of trustees, including Earl Fitzwilliam.
