Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HOLMES, SIDNEY. Driver. No L/29271. 'B' Battery, 16th Brigade Royal Field Artillery. Son of Joseph and Florence Holmes of Battye Mill, Colne Bridge. Employed as a coal-getter at Battye Mill Colliery. Enlisted at Whitsuntide, 1915. Died from pneumonia at No 39 Casualty Clearing Station, 3.3.1917, aged 27 years. Buried CERISY-GAILLY MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row D, Grave 4.
ROH:- St. John's Church, Kirkheaton.
