The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- ROEBUCK, SANDY. Private. No 31839. 7th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment. Born Denby Dale, near Huddersfield, 25.9.1884. Son of George Roebuck. Husband of Edith Annie Roebuck, 204 Albert Street, Lockwood (later of 93 Luck Lane, Marsh). Educated Mount Pleasant Board School. Employed as a wood turner by Messrs John Haigh and Sons, Firth Street, Huddersfield. Died in Persia of malaria on 3.10.1918, aged 34 years. Originally Buried in HAMADAN MILITARY CEMETERY, IRAN but re-interred in TEHRAN WAR CEMETERY, IRAN. Grave location:- Plot 5, Row E, Grave 6.
