Originally built in 1837 for the adjoining Wesleyan chapel and enlarged in 1873-4.[1]

The school building of 1873 appears to have included (or was later converted into) three residential properties which were known as Salem Terrace.[2]

  2. The properties are shown on the 1959 O.S. map and are included in the 1900 Huddersfield Directory (page 221). It may be the opening of the nearby Board School in the mid-1870s made the enlarged Sunday School redundant.
