Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

STOCKS, ROY THORNTON. Sergeant. No 12860. 10th Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment. Born Holmfirth. Son of Mr H. T. Stocks of the firm of Messrs Stocks and Mallinson, Upperhead Mills, Huddersfield. Lived Bradshaw Road, Honley. Employed as a cutter by Mr Samuel Taylor, clothier, of Huddersfield. Enlisted Huddersfield. Killed in action at the Battle of Loos on 26.9.1915, aged 21 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated LOOS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
