Roll of Honour, Newsome Mills, Newsome

The following memorial to those who died in the First World War was situated at Newsome Mills.

It was stolen in 2008 but, after a public appeal, it was returned in a damaged condition.

  1. There were two men named Fred Turton — Fred Turton (c.1879-1919) & Fred Turton (c.1882-1916) — who both came from the Holmfirth area. It is uncertain which of the two men actually worked at Newsome.
