Reuben Broadbent (1880-1918)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BROADBENT, REUBEN. Farrier Sergeant. No L/29255. 'A' Battery, 155th Brigade Royal Field Artillery. Born Somerset Bridge, Moldgreen, 2.9.1880. Educated at Beaumont Street Council School. Employed as a stoker at the Huddersfield Corporation Gasworks. Husband of Annie Broadbent, 5 Hawk Street, Huddersfield. Father of six children. Had served throughout the South African War. Enlisted May 1915. Killed in action near Cambrai, 3.10.1918, aged 37 years. Buried in CHAPEL CORNER CEMETERY, SAUCHY-LESTREE. Grave location:- Row A, Grave 24.
