Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HINCHLIFFE, RANDEL. Lance Corporal. No 22975. 8th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Holmbridge. Son of John and Sarah Hinchcliffe, of Stubbin, Holmbridge. Prior to enlistment, had served in the Wakefield police force and had also been an attendant at Storths Hall Asylum. He had also worked for Messrs J. Watkinson and Sons Limited, Washpit Mills. Married. Arrived in France 19.12.1916. Killed in action, 29.12.1916, aged 23 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
