Railway Times (21/Nov/1846) - Huddersfield and Manchester Railway and Canal
HUDDERSFIELD AND MANCHESTER RAILWAY AND CANAL.
NOTICE is HEREBY GIVEN, That an Extraordinary Meeting of the Proprietors of the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway and Canal Company will be held at the Guildhall, in Huddersfield, in the County of York, on Monday, the 30th day of November inst., at Twelve o'clock at noon, for the transaction of the following business:—
1st. To sanction an application to Parliament for powers to deviate, and otherwise alter the branch railway from the main line of the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway to Oldham, and to construct the following extensions and branches, that is to say, an Extension from the Oldham Branch to Springhead, to join the London and North-Western Railway in Manchester, and the Ashton Branch of the Manchester and Leeds Railway, in the township of Newton. A Branch Railway from the termination of the Oldham Branch, in Oldham, to join the intended Extension Line from Springhead to Manchester, and a Branch Railway from Oldham, to join the Stockport Branch of the London and North-Western Railway, at Guide Bridge.
2nd. To confirm an agreement made by the Directors of the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway and Canal Company, with the Directors of the London and North-Western Railway Company, for leasing or selling the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway and Canal, with all the Branches and proposed Extensions thereof, to the London and North Western Railway Company, and to sanction an application to Parliament for carrying such agreement into effect.
