Philip Haywood (1891-1917)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922
The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:
- HAYWOOD, PHILIP. 2nd Lieutenant. 2/6th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Huddersfield 18.6.1891. Son of Joseph and Lydia Haywood, 3 Park Drive, Huddersfield. Educated Ashville College, Harrogate. Was in business as a printer and stationer at the Huddersfield Exchange. Single. Served for about eighteen months with Lieutenant Colonel Demetriadi at the 2nd West Riding Casualty Clearing Station. Was commissioned in February, 1917. Killed in action at the Battle of Cambrai, 22.11.1917, aged 26 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated. CAMBRAI MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
