The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

RATTIGAN, PETER. Private. No 20725. 9th Battalion Duke of Wellington's Regiment. Born Rosemary Lane, Huddersfield, 19.6.1890. Son of Mr and Mrs Rattigan, 102 Kirkgate, Huddersfield. Educated St. Patrick's Roman Catholic School. Huddersfield. Employed as a labourer at British Dyes Limited. Attended St. Patrick's Church and was a member of the Irish National League. Enlisted June 1916. Killed in action, 7.11.1916, aged 25 years. Buried BANCOURT BRITISH CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 5, Row L, Grave 1.
