Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

MURPHY, PETER. Private. No 36533. 1/6th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. Born Kilkenny, County Mayo, Ireland. Husband of Annie Murphy, 26 Towngate, Marsden. Had lived for twenty years in Marsden. Employed as a mason's labourer by Messrs Brook and Holroyd, contractors, of Marsden. Enlisted July 1916. Embarked for France at Easter, 1917. Killed in action, 11.4.1918, aged 32 years. Has no known grave. Commemorated PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
