The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

BLACKBURN, PERCY WILLIAM. Gunner. No 83782. 243rd Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery. Born Linthwaite. Son of Job and Anne Blackburn of 5 Flathouse, Linthwaite. Employed as a weaver by Mr J E Crowther at Bank Bottom Mills. Was a member of the Slaithwaite United Harriers. Single. Enlisted 20.5.1916. Killed in action, 7.9.1917, aged 24 years. Buried in BLEUET FARM CEMETERY, BELGIUM. Grave location:- Plot 1, Row H, Grave 52.
