Percy Halstead (c.1887-1916)

Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922

The following extract is from Huddersfield's Roll of Honour: 1914-1922 (2014) by J. Margaret Stansfield:

HALSTEAD, PERCY. Private. No 40106 10th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment. Born Armitage Road, Milnsbridge. Son of Albert Halstead, 1 Armitage Road, Milnsbridge. Educated at Milnsbridge Council School and Longwood Grammar School. Employed as a painter and decorator by Messrs Bottomley and Fisher. Was a member of the Milnsbridge Liberal Club billiard team. Single. Enlisted May 1916. Died of trench feet and shell shock in Etaples Base Hospital, 19.11.1916, aged 29 years. Buried ETAPLES MILITARY CEMETERY. Grave location:- Plot 20, Row A, Grave 6a.
